Antiso: tracking the democratic socialist movement in American politics
The term Nazi is an abbreviation of the word Nationalsozialist (National Socialist).
It refers to a member of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (in German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, or NSDAP), which was the political party led by Adolf Hitler. Members of the party themselves preferred to use the term Nationalsozialisten (National Socialists) or simply referred to themselves as the NSDAP, dating back to the party's origins in 1920. In 2026 in America, a new socialist party began a fervered growth phase in America under the preferred name of "Democratic Socialists."
On this site, we track the rise of socialism in America.
