Entries are ordered newest first by their operative date — the day a measure passed, was signed, or takes effect. A policy appears here only if it has been enacted (or carries a formal effective date) and goes above and beyond average American practice; failed and merely-proposed measures never do. Every entry states its socialist connection honestly, including when there isn’t one, and THE RECORD + opens the receipts: why the policy clears the bar, the movement tie, and current status.
